Place broccoli in a small bowl and pour over boiling water to cover. Cover with cling film and stand for 2-3 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
To make the dressing, whisk all ingredients together until combined and season to taste.
In a large bowl, combine broccoli, carrot, tomato, cucumber, avocado and dressing and gently toss.
Transfer to a serving bowl, top with almonds and serve with warm pita bread.
