Kayla Nielsen
Kayla Nielsen is a yoga teacher and humanitarian who is dedicated to spreading light around the world through service and yoga. As the daughter of a yoga teacher, she began practicing as a child and has kept a consistent practice for over 18 years.
Her desire to start a non-profit and help others was sparked after a three-month position teaching English in Ghana after college. She later moved to Kenya where she worked at several internally displaced persons camps, set up agriculture projects, and taught business and financial skills to a women’s group. After enduring trauma and personal hardship, she turned to yoga, meditation, and intention setting to heal and decided to make her longtime dream come true.
She created Go Light Our World (GLOW), a non-profit dedicated to diminishing poverty with sustainable solar solutions. She is also the founder of Kindred Connection, a charity that serves mistreated and endangered animals. Combining her passion for yoga and service, Kayla set up international GLOW Yoga Retreats to fund both of these organizations’ charitable projects across the globe. She believes in cultivating compassion for the earth and all beings through selfless, sustainable service.
